Where Dreams Begin and Memories Last Forever

Celebrating 60 years at Ray & Scott Jewellers

To reach a diamond anniversary is incredibly special. It’s a milestone that both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II reached. It’s a time for celebration, and that’s exactly what Ray & Scott, the iconic jewellers on the Bridge, intends doing.
‘A whole year of activity is planned,’ says Martin Search, managing director, who, along with his business partner Jeff Fox, is encouraging anyone or any business celebrating an anniversary over the next 12 months to get in touch. Martin and the team dream of not only raising a considerable sum of money for local charities over the course of the anniversary year, but also wish to give customers a gift in the way of a generous discount. ‘We want to do something extra special,’ he says. ‘We want to carry on the tradition that founder Mr Ray started, which is to give back to the community.’

Local charities, including Autism Guernsey, Guernsey Dyslexia Day Centre, Guernsey Sailing Trust, Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, and Les Voiles Playground supported by Wooden Spoon and Bright Beginnings, will each receive an equal amount of the monies raised. ‘Although our diamond dream was planned well over a year ago, we recognise that charities have suffered a lack of funds because of Covid-19. We hope that the money raised will really help,’ says Martin.

The Diamond Dream Gift

Customers of Ray & Scott can help with the gift giving and help to boost the final charitable donation – further information on this is available in store.

Martin says that the company is offering up to 20%* off all diamond jewellery (excluding watches). A minimum of 2.5% of the discount must be donated by the customer to charity, but customers can choose to donate more of their discount to charity, should they so wish.

Every customer will be given a separate receipt detailing how much their contribution to the charities has been.

Knightsbridge of Guernsey

Locally known as the ‘Knightsbridge of Guernsey’, Ray & Scott is a 21st century business that has grown from selling giftware to being a specialist in selling quality, luxury jewellery and watches. ‘We source the highest quality diamonds from all over the world,’ says Martin, adding that they have the largest stock in Guernsey.

‘We know our core business,’ he adds. ‘Our diamonds are exceptional.’ In fact, there is an accredited diamond museum within the premises. If you are, or have been, a customer of Ray & Scott, then you’ll know that their reputation for customer service is second to none, due to the efforts of the loyal and caring staff. They’ll help and advise you to find the right piece of jewellery from the extensive collections.

Award Winners
The business has been the recipient of the UK Jewellery Watch Of The Year award – an award that means a lot to Martin and the team. ‘We were up against 500 other prestigious jewellers,’ he says. ‘To win was an amazing feeling.’ #GuernseyTogether has been a strong theme for much of an exceptionally difficult 2020 and Martin aims to give as much back as possible to the community. However, to celebrate something as special as a diamond anniversary will hopefully add a sparkle not only to Ray & Scott, but also its customers and its beneficial charities. This is the perfect time to come in and browse their beautiful premises and choose that perfect gift.
